Roll Call
The meeting was called to order by President David Moravecek at
6:15 pm. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Attendance
13 members were present at the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report
Eric Sundstrom (Treasurer) provided the status of Chamber funds
as of January 12th, 2007. The current balance stands at $12,208.86.
Outstanding checks total $2,031.69. A future balance of $10,177.17 is expected.
Secretary’s Report
Kevin Frontone (Secretary) was not present. Thanks to Chris
Canavara for taking minutes this month. Meeting minutes are
sent via email to members and are posted monthly at our website:
riversidechamberofcommerce.com.
Old Business
Mr. Sediuy of the CDC passed out brochures to members with
information from other chambers to create ideas for future improvements to
our chamber.
The local fire department has been directed to work with the Chamber at this
year’s Oktoberfest.
There are several changes Taking place to help streamline the activities of
the Chamber and the Village.
The Car show is slated for June 14th. Rick Rovella will be directing
the event and would appreciate
volunteers to assist with in making this a successful event.
New Business
The Steak Fry is moving its location from the preserve to the corner
of East & Pine Avenues in downtown Riverside.
The menu is expanding to include chicken. 2 tents, tables, and chairs will
be rented at a cost of $1275.
Ticket prices will remain the same. The event date is June 22nd.
Eric Sundstrom will continue to direct the
event for the Chamber. A vote was taken to approve thesen changes by unanimous
consent.
Jeanne Sussman
was present at the meeting to announce her candidacy for Trustee for the Village
of Riverside.
She is uncontested in the race. The Windy City Walkers are sponsoring a free
railroad and riverwalk on April 7th.
A Business Leadership Breakfast is scheduled for March 17th at
the Riverside Golf Club. All Chamber members are
invited to attend this event.
Voting
A unanimous vote was cast to approve the changes to the Steak Fry event.
Adjournment
The meeting was concluded at 7:25 pm. Meetings are held the 3rd
Tuesday of each month,
your attendance is encouraged and appreciated.
Special thanks to the Riverside Public Library for the use of their facilities
and for providing refreshments.
