Regular Meeting Minutes
February 21st, 2006

CALL TO ORDERMeeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by David Moravecek.
Thank you to the Blue Parrot for hosting the February Chamber meeting.          

ROLL CALLSign in sheet passed around.

SECRETARYFebruary minutes and all future minutes and notices will be posted
on our web page:  www.riversidechamberofcommerce.com.  As of today’s date we have
received 24 active memberships and 6 associate memberships for 2006.

TREASURER’SCash on hand:  $17,517.73.  A payment of $3,414.04 was

REPORTgiven by the Village of Riverside to the Chamber for Oktoberfest
and the Car Show.

OLD BUSINESSCar Show and Cruise Nights:
Rick Rovella will chair these events once again this year.  There will be 3 Cruise Nights:
June 8th, July 13th, and August 10th.  The season will be topped off by the Car Show on
September 24th.  Rick will be looking for volunteers to fill such tasks as greeting, parking,
and cleaning up afterwards.  Please see Rick if you are interested.

Steak Fry:
Eric Sundstrom will once again chair the steak fry.  The event is tentatively set for June
21st.  The location will be at the Forrest Reserve again this year.  Next year the event will
move to downtown Riverside.

Person of the Year Event:
This golf outing and banquet will take place on August 30th.  This event is co-sponsored by
the Chamber and the Riverside Township Lions Club.  Brian Brennan will once again chair
the golf outing.  The winner of the award will be determined at a later date.  Scuff Gross
provided information on how the winner will be nominated by the Lions Club and a 3
person committee volunteered to represent the Chamber in selecting a nominee.  More
details will be announced at a future date.

Trim A Tree:
A request has already been made for a banner for this event.  The date for the Trim A Tree
event will be November 25th.  In case of rain, the event will be the next day.  Deadline for
applications and fees is November 1st.  See Chris Canavera for details.

Holiday Stroll:
Brian Brennan will again chair the Holiday Stroll which is set for Friday, December 1st.  He
announced at the meeting that expenses for the 2005 event were paid in full.  Planning for
the 2006 stroll is underway and details will be announced at later meetings.

NEW BUSINESSNext Chamber Meeting: TBA
Mike Hullihan, the Director of Public Works for the Village of Riverside spoke at the
meeting.  He provided information on an upcoming roads referendum coming before the
voters and a number of gifting opportunities.  A number of garbage cans are needed
toward the East side of town and the extensive task of landscaping around Centennial Park
at the water tower.

The Chamber members made a motion to allocate $2500 toward the landscaping around
Centennial Park.  The motion was approved.

A second mailing of applications is being sent out to former members and prospective
businesses.  If you have not yet turned in your application and dues please send them in as
soon as possible.
