Regular Meeting Minutes
February, 15th 2005

CALL TO ORDERMeeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Jerry Cervak

ROLL CALLEveryone signed in at the front door.   

SECRETARY1-18-05 regular meeting minutes approved.                  

TREASURER’SOlga reminded everyone about 2005 membership dues.  Active
REPORTmembership dues are $100.00. Active members have active
Olga Sylvesterbusinesses located in Riverside Township or adjoining suburbs.
Associate membership dues are $60.00. Associate members are
generally others interested in the purpose of the Chamber but “ without
an active business” located in Riverside township.      

OLD BUSINESSJuly 3rd/4th weekend: Jerry Cervak asked if anyone is interested in
being the chairperson for this event. No responses came in. It was
suggested that possibly Stephanie from Riverside Foods maybe
interested.  Jerry stated he would ask her.
Policeman of the Year:  Ken Kurato is responsible for this event.  This
event is May 21st 2005     
Banners for Events: We have banners for the Steak Fry and Person of
the Year. Other banners are need for the following events: Trim A Tree,
Cruise Nights, Holiday Stroll, Oktoberfest.
Chris Canavera stated she would look into getting these banners. Olga
suggested using  “Sign Up” in Brookfield. Brian Brennan will provide the
dates for these events.
Cruise Nights: Rick stated that he was unable to get a lower price on
the event. He would not come down in the price.
Parking Suggestions:  Joe Dvorak put together a rough copy of the
parking issue letter. Copies of the letter where passed out. Open
discussion took place. Additional suggestions where added to the letter.
Copies of letter to mailed out to the Village trustee’s, Katie Rush and
police department. 

Chalkfest: Olga stated it was decided to start out small this year and
have a mini art fair or Chalkfest. Some local artists will be contacted
along with local schools. They are looking into grant funding for the art
fair.  This event is the 1st weekend in June.

NEW BUSINESSNew Building Development for East Burlington Ave &
Longcommon  Proposal:  Nick Mlade, Ltd. gave an overview of the
proposed building development.   

Person of the Year: Mr. Scuffy from the Lyons Club stated that 5 
people from the Chamber and 5 people from the Lyons Club are needed
to form the committee for this.  This Award is for someone whom has
preformed good service to the town. Dennis Sadilek is the key person.
All names must be in by March 1st to Dennis Sadilek.  Please
remember that this is confidential. Please write down a name
and why you think this person is outstanding. Send to: Dennis

The Lyons Club will be selling tickets for the dinner. It will
be held at the Riverside Golf Club. There will be a cut off date for
ticket sales because we need  to let the Golf Club know  4 days before
the event on how many people will be attending. 
The Chamber needs to let all members know about this
event.
