CALL TO ORDER
Meeting
was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by David Moravecek.
Thank you to
Parallel 42 for hosting the January Chamber meeting.
ROLL CALL

TREASURER’S
Cash
on hand: $10,627.19. Olga passed off chamber checkbook
REPORT
and other
records to the new treasurer Eric Sundstrom.
OLD BUSINESS
A
motion was made and passed to approve the new board. The members discussed
and laid
out a tentative
calendar of events for 2006.
Car Show
and Cruise Nights:
Rick Rovella
will chair these events once again this year. There will be 3 Cruise Nights:
June
8th,
July 13th, and August 10th. The season will be topped
off by the Car Show on September
24th.
Rick will be looking for volunteers to fill such tasks as greeting, parking,
and cleaning up
afterwards.
Please see Rick if you are interested.
Steak Fry:
Eric Sundstrom
will once again chair the steak fry. The event is tentatively set for June
21st.
There was much
debate over future changes to this event. The location and details are yet
to be
determined and
will be discussed at future meetings.
Concert in the
Park:
Stephanie will
chair the Concert in the Park. The concert will take place on July 3rd.
More
details will
be announced at coming meetings.
Person of the Year
Event:
This golf outing
and banquet will take place on August 30th. This event is co-sponsored
by the
Chamber and
the Riverside Township Lions Club. Brian Brennan will once again chair the
golf
outing. The
winner of the award will be determined at a later date.
ChalkFest:
A new event this
year, the ChalkFest will be held on September 17th. Olga will
chair this event
for the Chamber
and work closely with the Village of Riverside. Details to be announced at
a
later date.
Oktoberfest:
Jerry and
Roberta will co-chair this annual event. The date is set for October 7th.
No other
details were
announced at this time.
Trim A Tree:
Chris Canavera
successfully chaired this event last year and will continue in 2006. At the
meeting she
announced that 24 trees were purchased and after expenses the Chamber made
$556. The 2006
event is tentatively set for the final Saturday in November.
Holiday
Stroll:
Brian Brennan will
again chair the Holiday Stroll which is set for Friday, December 1st.
He
announced at
the meeting that expenses for the 2005 event were paid in full. Planning
for the
2006 stroll
is underway and details will be announced at later meetings.
NEW BUSINESS
Next
Chamber Meeting: February 21 @ 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at
the Blue
Parrot Tea Room,
31 Forest Dr. in Riverside.
There was a
good discussion and debate about changes and additions that could be made
to
improve the
Chamber. There were many ideas contributed by members. The goal of most
ideas was to
bring more exposure to member businesses and attract new members into the
organization.
